We welcome Eric Musgrave as an occasional features writer.

Eric has been writing about fashion and style for 36 years and is the author of ‘ ‘Sharp Suits’ (Pavilion Books), an acclaimed pictorial history of men’s tailoring since Victorian times.

He has far too many clothes and a very understanding wife.

Eric’s first article for us, ‘Memories Of The End Of An Era’, which dips into his Tailor & Cutter archive from 1939, appears in our Features section.

New Stock cloth from Dugdale Bros

We have recently taken delivery of a new ‘Birdseye’ stock cloth from Dugdale. The English Super 110 cloth combines classic background shades and designs. We have it in three shades of grey and two blues.

These 9  ozs or  280gms cloths have a slightly ‘crushed’ finish adding to their handle and longevity.

Point or Pea coat collar?

Perhaps a bit over looked as a result of all those great pictures of the cycling suit are these gems.
The jacket, made from Dashing Tweeds cloth ‘The Painter’ a linen silk and wool blend features a collar
that is pure Alan Bennett.

The waistcoat cloth is another Dashing Tweeds cloth ‘Iona’ 100% wool.
